Hello to all, Sorry it has been so long but things have been busy at the stables. Actually more so than usual. I have forgotten most of what I intended to write when I should have been writing so I am going to have to wing it. A belated Merry Christmas to all of you. We were blessed to spend the Christmas holidays in Maine visiting Jennifer's family. The weather was awesome. We had a white Christmas. Two Feet to be exact. However, the roads were as clear as they are in the summer time. I guess they just know how to do it up there. We really enjoyed ourselves. We would have not been able to go without the help of Dorothy, Aaron and Lee Anna. They (along with our friend Lee Durbin) split the feedings into AM and PM and took care of everything. We never worried the whole time we were gone as we knew we had left the place in good hands. We did a little trading on the cost of board but it was well worth it to be able to get away from the day to day work. Our THANKS to all that helped. You are awesome. We have some of our family that are in need of your prayers. Lee Anna is having some test run for persistent headaches. We can tell she is in pain and preoccupied with the many questions that come with health issues. We pray daily for her peace and good health and we have a good feeling that all will be well in the end.. Bill Malley had carpal tunnel surgery last month. Dee Dee has her hands full but we here he is being a good patient. He also has to have the other wrist done in the future. Good thing he did not get both done at the same time. We are all concerned with the economy but some of us are hurt more that others. Lee Graves is involved in sales at Bob Swope Ford and the auto industry has been hit hard. If any of you are in need of a car or truck or know of anyone that is, give him a chance to work a deal for you. Sam Korna is deep in the stock market in Massachusetts and I know he can use all the Karma we can send. I guess you could say that we all need a word spoken for us when prayers are said. We have had a couple of bouts of bad weather. The ice storm was the worse by far. We were without power for seven and one half days. So, needless to say, we earned our money trying to meet the needs of the horses and our family during the trial. Jennifer and I finished the barn breezeway project over the weekend. It sure looks nice. I have a little more work to do on one stall and this project will be complete. We plan to turn one of the foaling stalls into two stalls by using a hinged wall that can be used to divide or open up. This will give us a bit more versatility when it comes to housing horses in inclement weather. Let us know what you think of the project. We have some other plans for the barn this summer. The horses are all doing fine. Not much news about them except for Phinny. He left for PA in January. He loaded like he had been doing it all his life. He is an amazing little guy. The trainer loves him. So, I guess we must have done something right. God leads, we follow. I guess that is about all from the stables. I promise to be better at getting news out before it becomes history. Our family is doing great and I hope yours is too. Matt is busy with school, weight lifting for football, scouts and chores. Jennifer is busy making soap for the coming season. Let her know if you need any. She also has her hands full with normal things around here, mainly me! We are blessed. Until next time, believe and be thankful, Richard, Jennifer and Matt
